The wet market there is huge.
I've talked about the Sri Veeramakaliamman temple before, and I never tire of taking pictures of it:
Back on the bus, you can get a view of some colorful HDB's (the government subsidized housing) around the area. Each of these colors stands for something, but I can never remember what. Probably something to do with prosperity and luck. The usual.
A quick drive-by through Arab Street for the Sultan Mosque, where the detail below the dome is actually glass bottle bottoms, a tribute to the poor who used to sell those bottle on the same spot.
Motoring past the Raffles hotel, where for a mere $1000 a night, you too can sleep where President Clinton did when he visited Singapore.
The other hop-off stop was in Chinatown, where we stopped at the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple...
And back on the Chinatown streets for more shopping! We picked up a few souvenirs, including pretty hand painted perfume bottles...
...and The Old Watch Guy in an alleyway, who for a $5 will give you a new leather watchband, installment and all.

After a long day and in need of a refreshment, we went over to our local wet market for some refreshing local lime juice. Little did Esther know that when you ask for something "to go", it doesn't actually come in a cup.
Yep, your drink comes in a plastic bag. Drink up!
