Europe - Day 13 - Zurich

Quick walking tour of Zurich today, which didn't take long because Zurich isn't a very big city. The weather was positively frigid (in the 60's, is this really July?), so we also walked pretty quickly. The national museum was just a block away from our hotel, but since we arrived just 1/2 hour before it closed, we took a few pix of the outside and moved on.

Through Central Station:

To the tip of Lake Zurich. There was a musical group playing:

Look a little closer and you'll see one of the musician's kids, who so does not want to be there:

It was a bit of a gray day, but there was still some great stuff to look at:

The church above had Chagall stained glass windows inside. You're not supposed to take pictures, but for the sake of my serious journalism, I snuck a pic:

On the way back through Central Station, I found two examples of how expensive this city can be. Take a look at the sign of the juicy burger on the lower left:

Price? $50. I almost wanted to get it just to say that I've had a $50 hamburger, but then reconsidered when I thought how much cheese and bread that could buy.

Second, some of the bathrooms were nice, but at a cost. Two dollars just for me to go to the bathroom and wash my hands:

It's a bit less if you're a guy, apparently they're lower maintenance:

Our feet hurting (again), we turned in. Tomorrow we're taking it easy and doing the bus tour.
