Home Leave!

We get to go home once a year on 3M's dime, and we pick the best time in Minnesota - fall!  Twins game (won both), Gopher football games (lost both), State Fair (corn dog, chicken-fried-bacon, deep fried pizza balls and beer-garitas) and the general awesomeness that is Minnesota weather in the fall (90 and humid when we arrived, 50 and rainy when we left).

We landed in MN at 5pm on a Wednesday, and were off to Maine at 8am the next day.  My Singapore friend Margaret was getting married in Kennebunkport, and since we were already going to be in the country - why not go just a bit further?  I'd never been to Maine before, it was nice to cross another one off the list.

It's amazing what $300 a night can get you...

No TV in the room, but I guess what you're paying for is the view:

The first thing we did was hop on the trolly ride to check out the local scenery.  Might be nice to have a "cottage" on the coast.

Or maybe this place.

But you can't!  It's George Bush's place.

The whole town was like a postcard.

I think every business in Kennebunkport had a sign here, though it wasn't exactly helpful.

Rehearsal dinner was a fantastic lobster bake in the nearby town of Cape Porpoise.

Sorry for the picture, John, but it was too priceless.

What a great first day in Maine, thanks John and Margaret!
